Tamagawa Gakuen of Canada Society is a non-profit satellite facility of the Tamagawa Gakuen. Tamagawa Gakuen is a private school in Tokyo, Japan catering to K-12 Academy and University studies. This privately-owned satellite campus is located on 84 acres in Cedar. The society was founded in 1975.
In 1981, two Tamagawa representatives, John Tanimoto and Toshi Yamaji, were heavily involved with helping to establish the Central Vancouver Island Japanese-Canadian Cultural Society (Seven Potatoes). To this day, Tamagawa still promotes the friendly relationship with the Seven Potatoes organization by donating facility space and the use of equipment. Thank you to Tamagawa for maintaining this relationship.
